| July 21, 2004 Liza celebrates award with fanfare: A-list guest list and lots of diamonds MING PAO - Liza Wang threw a dinner party two nights ago to celebrate her Silver Bauhinia Star, flaunting a red gown, diamond earrings, rings, bracelet and watch. Her boyfriend Law Ka Ying revealed his new do. It was as if the couple were new celebrities who were the center of attention. On stage, Ka Ying talked about his relationship with Liza. They started in 1988 and one of the most unforgettable times was their trip to Japan which confirmed their going steady. "In 10 or so years, we've been through a lot and we've never spoken the 2 words 'break up.'" The audience rallied for Ka Ying to propose, but he kissed Liza instead. The star studded guest list included Andy Lau, Alan Tam, George Lam, Dodo Cheng, Hacken Lee and girlfriend Lo Suk Yee, and Patrick Tse Yin and his daughter Tse Ting Ting. Alan, Andy and Hacken chipped in several thousand each to buy a crystal for Liza. Andy ditched his concert rehearsal party to attend. The two first worked together in the TVB series "Yeung Female Warrior" where Andy played Liza's son. Unfortunately, Andy's character died off as soon as he appeared in the scene. The star comments, "The most unforgettable impression I got was that Liza was so busy practicing shooting, she didn't even eat and had a very serious attitude." When Andy was once an emcee for the new talent singing competition, he blurted what sounded like an obscenity when announcing one of the judge's names Lai Siu Tin. Visibly shaken, Liza, who was one of the competition's judges, told Andy: "Be good. Do it with effort from the heart." Andy hopes they have a chance to collaborate in movies.
